Changing Divisions

PLEASE NOTE: U6 means under 6, so 5 year olds. U8 means under 8, so it consists of 6 and 7 year olds. Trust the program is putting you in the correct division based off your child's birthdate.

You may be unsure, especially if this is your child's first year, if your child is ready for the division their birthdate puts them in. We understand but we are limited to what our insurance will cover. FOR ANY CHANGE IN DIVISION, you will need commissioner approval. Below is the general guideline for approval of changing a division:
  1. U10+ divisions:
    • You cannot move down. These are competitive divisions and our insurance will not cover any injury to your or any other child.
    • >
    • You can move up if you want more competition for your child. The rule is that your child has to have been on a post season team in the division prior (TOC or All Stars).
  2. U6/8/Jamboree:
    • Since these are introductory ages/divisions, I have a bit of flexibility. Please take heed to the note given in the first line. If you child is in the U10 division by birthdate, regardless if its their first year, they must play in U10.
    • It is possible to move a child from U8 to U6 if it is their FIRST YEAR ONLY. You will still need commissioner approval.
If you have questions or concerns, email [email protected].

Playing Time Policy

3/4 PLAY TIME:

In Tierrasanta, we want our kids to play. That is why we keep the highest requirement of all regions when it comes to play time.

The national minimum is 1/2 game, but in our region, we require 3/4. The only time when 3/4 is not practiced in Tierrasanta is due to maximizing players playing on a team. When there are too many players on a team to ensure everyone plays, is the only time we do not hold to the 3/4 playing time.

Our Area and Section tournaments also require the 3/4 playing time. So when our teams go to TOC or All Stars, they are fully prepared for the 3/4 game time requirement. Please keep in mind not all regions will practice the same but they have to play the national minimum if 1/2 game.

If you feel your child is not getting their 3/4 playing time, please bring this to the coach first. Then you can bring it to the coach admin and commissioner.
